TRANIO (lui Lucentio): I-ai castigat, mi-ai spus, cu multa arta,
Iubirea. Dar acum e intrebarea:
Isi da Baptista Incuviintarea?
Cuvine-se, cum lamurit ti-am spus,
Sa cautam acum un om dispus
Sa spuna ca-i din Pisa si ca-l cheama
 Vincentio. si-apoi, de buna seama,
Sa intareasca ce-am fagaduit
Ca zestre pentru Bianca, negresit.
LUCENTIO: De n-ar fi lautarul cel buimac
Ce urmareste-Intruna tot ce fac,
Cu Bianca-in taina pot sa ma insor,
Si toti sa spuna-in urma tot ce vor.
TRANIO: Vom cumpani ce e mai cu folos.
Pe Gremio, batranul artagos,
si pe Baptista, cum sa-i pacalim
De lautar sa ne cotorosim.
Stapanul meu, Lucentio, sa fie (...)”
