Zaagi and Misaabekwe
De (autor): Sam Zimmerman
There are legends all over the world of mythical natural people who are giants, but to the Ojibwe, these are our elder brothers and sisters. In this story, little Zaagi wanders into the woods and encounters Misaabekwe-an ancient giant woman of the forest. Misaabekwe encourages Zaagi, whose singing calms the bickering adults of her community, reminding them of what is important, "as children always do."
